I love this hotel because of the wonderful view on the Danubio and old palaces. In ten minutes you can reach the pedestrian area full of restaurants, shops and people by crossing the bridge. The room is big, clean with a flat TV. The breakfast is acceptable.

Perfect hotel for a city trip. Friendly staff, very clean, really everything was superb. The best possible location for visiting Budapest. Nothing negative can be said. There are special offers for the low season. The transport from and to the airport is very easy with the shuttle.

We spent three nights in Budapest over New Years Eve. Hotel Victoria was an excellent choice. 5 min away from a metro station which connects buda and pest, awsome view over the danube and on the parliament and decent breakfast. We also liked the light installations in the room. Stayed December 2013, traveled as a couple

We stayed here at the beginning of our two week trip to Budapest and Austria over the holidays, and couldn't have been happier. The rooms were a delightful surprise, the view was stunning over the Danube and the Pest side of the city, the breakfasts were our favorite on the trip... including the typical European selection of breads, cheeses, cold cuts, fruit, cereals/grains/nuts, jams etc etc. and a hot egg dish made to order... and all the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful, but especially Irena, and the woman who handled the bar and breakfast. Don't miss the 'tea' 4 - 5 P.M. in the white music room. We looked at maybe two dozen, narrowed it down to Gerloczy or this, and were VERY happy here in this spot. (Try the Gerloczy restaurant and especially their chocolate cake...better than the best in Vienna) Also, the Budapest Card made the trip across the river easy and free, with many other benefits. Very worth the small price.

Chose this hotel as I saw that it has great views. As all of you know, Budapest is great for it's night scenery. We walked a lot in Budapest (didn't take any bus at all), hence the location is quite far to walk if you are at the town centre. About 20 mins walk. Nevertheless, the walk also allowed us to enjoy the beautiful city scenery of this Unesco town. Back at the hotel, you can also climb the hill and reach various restaurants. It's a quiet walk, hence do stay at the well lit roads for safety reasons. There was also a huge supermarket about 5-10 mins. The hotel is about 15 mins taxi ride to the train station. Book the taxi from the reception if you need to, for safety reasons. Rooms were clean, warmly decorated and decent. Just that 2 single beds were joint to a double bed. The room was pretty well furnished, and there was a leaflet placed in the room to inform you of what to watch out for dangers (such as public transport), the expected taxi fair etc etc. I found the leaflet very useful as a tourist, but my partner was quite paranoid about taking public transport hence we walked a lot. As for the receptionist, they kept changing due to different shifts. They will assist in your queries, but can sometimes be quite curt. Breakfast was decent, good to last you till late afternoon. You can choose from the eggs menu on how you want your eggs to be done, and they will serve it warm and fresh to you. Ham, cereals, breads, yogurts, fruits and coffee/tea were served. Not bad for European standards. It's quite a value for money hotel. Best thing of the hotel is the view. And the scenic walk along the river as you head out/come back from sightseeing.

Just returned from 5 nights at the Hotel Victoria, which we selected via Trip Advisor and booked via Jet2. Lovely little hotel with stunning views of the Danube. Must be the best view from a hotel window I've ever had. The room was clean and comfortable. There was a noise from the road which started about 5.30 am Budapest evidently starts work early! However a small price to pay. Convenient location, a short walk from the Chain Bridge over to Pest with all its amenities. We had dinner at Carne di Halle twice during our stay, its 200 m down from the Hotel and was really excellent. Breakfast room got a little crowded at times and once we had to wait for a table. Good selection of cereals, breads, meat, cheese with hot options cooked to suit you. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Stayed at this hotel for two nights prior to a 15 day Viking riverboat cruise. We could not have been happier that we picked this hotel. Now if you're looking for a Hilton, or Intercontinental type place to stay this is not it. However, if you want the real feel of Budapest, this is a great choice. The lobby is small and quaint with a lovely little eating area to the right where they served a daily breakfast that was great. Our room, #73, had a fantastic view of The Danube, Parliament and Chain Bridge - beautiful at night too. We found the location, on the Buda side, to be very convenient for walking everywhere and indeed, we probably walked about 15 miles + during our 2 day stay and saw just about everything. When it was time to leave for our boat trip, we simply pulled our luggage across the Chain Bridge (we're both 66 yrs old, so it wasen't hard) and there was our boat, ready to board.

There are so many great things to say about this hotel - to start with, every room has a view of the Danube (instead of paying more for such a room like most hotels), the location is excellent for access to cruises along the river and is only 10 or so minutes (steep but invigorating) walk up to Buda's stunning St Matthias Church and more awesome views over Budapest, the hotel's just one tram stop from Batthyanya Square which gets you onto the Metro and suburban rail, there's some fantastic bars and restaurants (like Carne Di Hall) just minutes away, and the rooms have wifi. But better than all of this is the hotel's staff who made us feel very welcome from the word go. They were enthusiastic, friendly and incredibly helpful too, providing advice about our airport transfer booking, great recommendations for restaurants, best baths to go to (and one 'to forget about'!), and making dinner reservations for us - nothing was an effort at all. That level of care is something that we've not really experienced in big hotels or chain hotels, and that's the point about Hotel Victoria; it's small enough that you get the personal touch - and that's worth so much - in fact, we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again when visiting Budapest again!

My husband and I were looking for a romantic get away to Budapest and we found everything we needed at the Hotel Victoria and much more. This very personal hotel is located right on the Danube with spectacular views of the Parliament. The breakfast was outstanding and the service impeccable !! The rooms were very clean and spacious-the only hotel I have ever stayed at with excellent closet space for 2 people or even three. The beds were very comfortable. An added luxury was the on site presence of the "Jeno Hubay" historic concert hall where you could have afternoon tea or see violin concerts. The front desk was very accommodating in everyway. This hotel goes out of their way to please their customers. We will most definitely return to this hotel which I feel represents the "Heart of Budapest".

We just returned from a trip to Budapest in which we stayed at the lovely Hotel Victoria. We spent 5 wonderful days here. The hotel has only 27 guest rooms (3 to a floor) all of which have glorious picture window views of the Parliament and the Chain Bridge, not to mention the activity on the Danube. The hotel was renovated 1 1/2 years ago and is spotless, quiet, state of the art computer access, extensive breakfast menu (including made to order eggs). The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel has a tram stop in front and a metro stop a few minutes walk. It is on the Buda side of the river and has easy access to Buda Hill by bus or cog railway and you can easily walk to and across the Chain Bridge. It is centrally located with lots of good restaurants in the neighborhood. There is a supermarket nearby and a bank with ATM access next door to the supermarket. I highly recommend this hotel. It has more than lived up to my expectations.
